Top designers used no jewelry at all in their Spring 2010 collections or went big with bold color in rainbow shades. Who bedazzled and who went glitter-free?

Jewelry has often been a no-show for Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week collections, with designers preferring to focus on basics, separates and anti-glam instead of gala gown chic.

This year is no exception. DKNY, Thakoon, and Carolina Herrera all sent their models down the runway without a speck of jewels to speak of. And shockingly Madonna favorite, Marc Jacobs, who graced us with over-the-top bangled looks and 80s throwbacks last year, opted for neckscarves and (snore) fanny packs instead of blingy accessories.

Thankfully, some of our designer favorites injected whimsy and color into their lines with layers of jewelry in rainbow shades.

Zac Posen is easily the critics' favorite collection this season, with day-glo party pieces accessorized with fun brooches and stunning statement necklaces in blues and pinks.

The First Lady of Fashion, Diane von Furstenberg, layered her models elbow-deep with a cornucopia of bangle styles.

And evening wear master, Reem Acra, continued her use of the statement necklace to bring each of her gorgeous gowns a regal presence - even her pooch got to sport the style.

Fashionistas have even more reason to rejoice - color is easy to come by this season in affordable fine jewelry styles and creative costume options.
