From high fashion statement pieces to boho flower jewels, Italy's top designers brought eye-catching jewelry to the Fashion Week catwalks.

Spring 2010 ready-to-wear is going global, with the Paris shows starting today and the Milan runways just closing up for the season. And the jewelry verdict so far? Gold statements, boho glam and jewels to help you 'whistle while you work' made a glittering show in the land of romance.

What is Milan Fashion Week without sartorial powerhouse, Dolce & Gabbana? And the dynamic duo didn't disappoint, with a return to their 90s roots and a huge splash of D & G bling. Gold coin statement necklaces, cross pendants and layered bracelets conjured images of Madonna's Like a Prayer days, with tailored suit jackets and lacy frocks adding to the flashback.

Designer, Marni, went a different route with hippie chick chic complemented by headscarves and beaded gemstone dangle earrings, layered bangles in naturals and greens and show-stopping flower earrings to complete the thought.

Finally, Missoni, brought out the softer side of spring with light lacy colors and wrap-around necklaces topped with whistle pendants. Yup. Whistles. A practical crime-stopper and a fashion-forward find - what more can you ask for?
