The experts at color authority, Pantone, have released their top 10 colors for spring women's fashions. What does it mean for your jewelry box?

The trendsetters have spoken. Color experts, Pantone, released their Fashion Color Report for 2010 revealing a palette of vibrant hues and practical neutrals.

"Now,more than ever, women are vigilant when it comes to spending," Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman said in the report. "Instead of reinventing their wardrobe at the start of each season, consumers want pieces to complement what they already own. Pairing a bold color with a basic piece or freshening up their look with bright accents addresses the need for practicality, as well as fun."

And that sentiment extends to jewelry, with basic beiges being livened up by a brightly colored jewel in the season's top colors: turquoise, tomato puree, fusion coral, violet, Tuscany, aurora, Amparo blue, pink champagne, dried herb and eucalyptus.

So how does this translate to your own jewelry box? Clearly, any of your turquoise pieces will work in the fashion forward department. Coral jewelry is 'in', and purple gemstones like tanzanite and amethyst will satisfy the violet trend.

For the neutrals, champagne diamonds, moonstone styles, and wispy pink gemstones are a great way to add a natural sparkle to your basics.

And the runways are still showing lots and lots of yellow gold, according to the World Gold Council.
