Cubic Zirconia Rings
Cubic Zirconia Rings, a diamond substitute with real fire.
Cubic
Zirconia, (also known simply as 'cz') the oldest and most established diamond
simulant, is a man-made diamond substitute with an inexpensive price tag. The CZ
story began in 1937. Two German mineralogists discovered the cubic form of
zirconium oxide (CZ for short) but it wasn't until the 1970's however, when
Soviet scientists learned how to "grow" this mineral in a laboratory that it
became popular with jewelry designers wishing to offer cubic zirconia rings as
alternatives to ultra expensive diamond wedding rings.
Gemologists agree that cubic zirconia rings are the finest diamond simulant jewelry because the stone comes closer than any other gem material to matching the characteristics of a diamond. Most people, even trained gemologists, cannot tell the difference with the naked eye between diamond and cubic zirconia rings.
Like diamonds, the best cubic zirconia stones are colorless (or white) and don't lose their brilliance. Given proper cleaning, a cubic zirconia ring will retain its beauty for years. If you do happen to chip or scratch a cubic zirconia, it's only a few dollars to replace the stone with a new one. To fill the need for colors, manufacturers also produce a variety of colored cubic Zirconia rings and jewelry.
Cubic Zirconia rings are an extremely affordable way to get the 'diamond look' at a fraction of the price. Since it is a man made crystal grown in controlled conditions, the quality of CZ is assured with clarity and cut comparable to the finest diamonds. Because of the affordability, cubic zirconia engagement rings are often the alternative for those getting married under a tight budget. The ability to afford larger CZ gemstones across the board means that cubic Zirconia rings can create even more dazzling finger bling on a budget. Similarly inexpensive "upsized" cubic zirconia right hand rings can create a spectacular effect, giving off scintillating sparkle with eveningwear.
From playful multi colored cubic zirconia rings, to large-scale diamond-like luxurious evening wear styled right hand rings cubic Zirconia rings have moved into the spotlight as an affordable alternative.
